It will be a success in Ukraine if a third of the money held by Ukrainian citizens comes out of the shadows, said Daniil Getmantsev, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, People's Deputy from the Servant of the People.
“In Ukraine, people have $50 billion in their hands, according to some estimates, and even more, according to others. If at least a third of them come out “white” (not only in money, but in various assets), we will consider this a big victory,” he said.
According to him, the tax amnesty, which began on September 1, has three goals: to “whitewash” assets and savings, return money to the economy, and also fiscal, “but it’s definitely not the main one.”
