It is better to conduct negotiations at the technical level so that the meeting does not have a symbolic value, the Polish Prime Minister believes.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk refused to hold a government meeting with the Ukrainian side at the border to resolve the situation that arose due to the protests of Polish farmers. This was reported by Onet on Thursday, February 22.

The politician noted that he rejects the proposal of the President of Ukraine Zelensky because the meeting at the border would be purely symbolic. Tusk said that the government meeting will take place on March 28 in Warsaw.

"The Ukrainian side also understands that it is better to conduct these negotiations at the technical level so that the government meeting does not have a symbolic value – because we do not need symbolism in relations. The whole world sees how determined we are to help Ukraine, and there is no need for further bright gestures of solidarity," he said.

The Prime Minister noted that the Polish side will continue negotiations with both Ukraine and the EU in order to prove its point of view to them.

Meanwhile, Warsaw intends to take under special control the sections of roads leading to checkpoints on the border with Ukraine.

"We will add to the list of critical infrastructure checkpoints on the border with Ukraine and adjacent sections of highways and railways," Tusk said, adding that this is a matter of "the next few hours."
