Kazakhstanis have enough money only for basic needs

The income of one inhabitant of the country in 2023 amounted to slightly more than 1.1 million tenge, or 96.8 thousand tenge per month. This is 20.5% more than in 2022, the Bureau of National Statistics reports.

Most of the money came from work – 865.8 thousand tenge per year. Kazakhs also received pensions, assistance, material assistance, etc.

At the same time, the expenses of one inhabitant of the country amounted to almost 1.1 million tenge per year (+15.2%), or 89.4 thousand tenge per month.

The main share of expenses fell on consumption – 988.4 thousand tenge per year, or 85.1% of all incomes.

Kazakhs spend an average of 550.7 thousand tenge per year on food, non-food goods – 248.7 thousand tenge, and paid services – 188.9 thousand tenge.

Repayment of loans and debt payments amounted to 62.5 thousand tenge per year, alimony – 20.1 thousand tenge, taxes – 1.9 thousand tenge.
